Gapple Co (“we,” “us,” “our”) respects your privacy. This policy describes what personal information we collect when you visit gapple-co.com (the “Site”) or buy from us, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide

  • Order information: name, email address, shipping and billing addresses, phone number, and order details when you place an order. Payment is processed by our payment providers (see below); we do not receive or store your full card number.
  • Account information: if you create an account at checkout, we store your name, email address, and order history.
  • Contact and quote requests: the name, email address, and message you send through our contact or quote forms, and any engraving text or artwork you upload for a custom board.

Information collected automatically

  • Device and usage data: pages visited, time spent, approximate location (city/state from IP address), browser and device type, and referring pages, collected through cookies and similar technologies (see Section 5).

2. How we use your information

  • To fulfill and ship orders, process payments, and provide customer support.
  • To respond to quote requests, contact-form messages, and engraving questions.
  • To send order updates.
  • To understand how the Site is used and improve it, using aggregated analytics.
  • To detect fraud and keep the Site secure.
  • To comply with legal obligations, including tax record-keeping.

3. Payment processing

Payments are processed by Stripe and PayPal. When you pay, your payment details go directly to the payment provider under its own privacy policy; we receive only a payment confirmation and the last few digits of the card where shown. We never ask for your card number by email.

4. Who we share information with

We share personal information only as needed to run the store:

  • Fulfillment: ShipStation and shipping carriers (USPS, UPS, FedEx) receive the name, address, and phone number needed to deliver your order.
  • Website hosting: Hostinger, which hosts the Site and its email.
  • Analytics and advertising: Google (Google Analytics / GA4, Google Ads, and Google Merchant Center product listings) and Meta (the Meta pixel) receive device and usage data, including pages viewed and orders placed, to measure traffic and advertising effectiveness. These providers use their own cookies; see Section 5 for opt-outs.
  • Marketplace listings: our products appear on Amazon, Etsy, and Faire; orders placed on those platforms are governed by those platforms’ privacy policies, not this one.
  • Legal: we disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights and safety.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for third-party marketing.

5. Cookies and tracking

The Site uses cookies and similar technologies for:

  • Essential functions: cart, checkout, and account sign-in.
  • Analytics: Google Analytics (GA4), which reports Site usage in aggregate. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
  • Advertising measurement: the Google Ads tag and the Meta pixel, which record visits and purchases so we can measure ads. You can control personalized ads through Google Ads Settings and Meta’s ad preferences.

Your browser settings can block or delete cookies; blocking essential cookies may prevent checkout from working.

6. How long we keep information

Order records are kept as long as needed for tax, accounting, and support purposes (generally at least 7 years for sales records). Contact-form messages and quote requests are kept only while needed to answer them.

7. Your rights and choices

You may ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal information by emailing bryce@gapple-co.com. We honor applicable U.S. state privacy laws; if you are a resident of a state that grants additional rights (including a right to know, delete, or opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information), contact us and we will respond as required. We do not sell personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of on that point.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and payment processing through established providers. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure.

9. Children

The Site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time; the effective date above will change accordingly. Material changes will be noted on this page.
